What’s happening in the world right now?

I’ve been head down getting excited about:

• Gemini 2.5

• Playing and thinking about Gatekeeper’s Agentic AI that we’re launching next month.

• Spending a lot of time creating images in ChatGPT

And then I look up…well, down at my phone to see the Perplexity notification.

Tariffs…more tariffs….a pause of some tariffs.

Man, what a crazy time for international trade. Reacting to these types of macroeconomic trends/blips is incredibly difficult.

Especially when so much is out of your control.

But there’s a long-standing case for technology to be the “bread and butter” of your procurement team.

If you cannot control the controllable, you’ll suffer when something like this comes up and smashes your front teeth out.

So many people will be scrambling with outdated data, going through rows of spreadsheets and trying to figure out what is happening.

Technology and apps working together across organisations have to be your focus.

Only with this can you hope to get through these periods.
