Hey Procurement Legends,
I genuinely love March. Easter is one of my favourite events of the year—good food, chocolate, and a good moment to take stock of life.
I’m heading to Wales next week with my eldest (he’s six), and we’re gonna attempt to summit Snowdon and do some camping in the Tesla. I’ll take a complete week off from almost everything and near on impossible to reach, but I will post some new content via Substack as a test for my new ideas.
What I'm Reading
I’m now on a Cal Newport reading streak and smashing through Deep Work.
On the back of Digital Minimalism, I’ve deleted every social media app from my phone, and my ability to get work done has massively increased - at least a 50% boost. I felt productive before that, too.
What I'm Thinking (about Procurement)
Policies don’t mean anything.
Procurement teams like to focus on getting policies in place.
But without the ability to adhere to them…they’re useless.
One Procurement Tech-Focused Insight
Seeing the devastating news in the US with the bridge collapse and the sadly confirmed deaths, I cannot imagine how, from a supply chain side, organisations are going to react to traffic lanes and port closures.
It’s truly a disaster of globalisation.
