#1 Welcome to Procurement Legends
The new name of this weekly newsletter from World of Procurement
Hey Procurement Legend,
I've decided to make a few changes.
To start with, welcome to the "Procurement Legends" newsletter by World of Procurement. I've been calling all of you Legends for a long time and have meant to make this change for some time now. No fancy graphics or logo change, but I'm sure that will come with due time.
I believe in the quality of content over the quantity of content. And I've felt incredibly stretched - in an awful way, trying to maintain 3 x posts that contain content as part of World of Procurement.
So, here's what I'm going for now:
Wednesday: Procurement Legends Newsletter
- What I'm Reading
- What I'm Thinking (about Procurement)
- One Procurement Tech Focused Insight
- One Piece of Content I've Found Useful
- My Procurement Reading List
Friday: Long-Form Deep Dive into a Topic (Paid Members only)
Every Quarter: State of Procurement Tech Review (doing one a month was too much with the research required)
Every Sunday: A Thread that is open to all members (free and paid) that encourages you amazing people to talk to one another, (and me), but this is for you. I will do my best to facilitate the conversation with all 2000+ of you. I've been testing this out and think it could work. Every week, in this Procurement Legends Newsletter I'll be asking you for ideas or running a poll to decide what the following Sunday thread should be about.
I would love to get the World of Procurement podcast going again so I'm trying to figure out if I can get this started via a solo focus episode where I share some insights/research etc with you. Let's see.
I love this community. And I want to make it more focused on all of you speaking to one another.
See you on Friday to my paid members.
See you Sunday to the rest of you legends.
Let’s start with the new format.
What I'm Reading
Confession: I’m still reading the Elon book, as it’s huge, and I’ve been busy. But this week, I’ll be dipping into an early copy of Dr Elouise’s new book, How to hack your Supply Chain.
What I'm Thinking (about Procurement)
DPW and the future of procurement events. At some point, I’m pretty sure
and I will create an incredible event in the UK somewhere that truly focuses on the Future of Procurement.DPW was an incredible experience. I recommend you all go.
One Procurement Tech-Focused Insight
I met Aman Mann in DPW in a thick crowd of people. We got talking - he’s an awesome guy.
He let me know that Procurify just raised $50m in their series C. That’s incredible - check out their announcement here.
Procurify, the leading all-in-one spend management solution for mid-market organizations, has raised $50 million USD in a Series C funding round led by Ten Coves Capital, with co-investment from Export Development Canada (EDC) and participation from existing investors including Information Venture Partners and HarbourVest, et al. The latest investment, which more than doubles the company’s total equity funding to over $70 million, will enable Procurify to expand globally, launch new payment capabilities, and provide customers with an AI-enhanced procure-to-pay experience.
One Piece of Content I've Found Useful
Why technology procurement deserves its own AGILE process
My Procurement Reading List (TBC as this will be a dedicated page that I’ll build this week).
Stay AWESOME.
